Australian patients
In Australia, medicinal cannabis edibles are legal for patients with a valid prescription. Edibles can be used alongside conventional medications or can be used as a natural alternative when your current medications aren’t providing relief or cause unwelcome side effects.

Cannabis Eligibility
Your doctor is there to support you in exploring whether medicinal cannabis edibles could be a beneficial treatment for your condition.
To be eligible for a medicinal cannabis prescription in Australia, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has outlined specific criteria designed with your well-being in mind:
01 Chronic Medical Condition
You should have a chronic medical condition diagnosed by a caring medical professional, with symptoms persisting for three months or more.
02 Previous Treatment Attempts
If you've tried other forms of treatment without finding relief for your condition or experienced unwelcome side effects, you may also qualify.
Your doctor will take into consideration various factors, tailored to your individual condition and circumstances, when assessing the suitability of medicinal cannabis for you.
For the most up-to-date information on medicinal cannabis treatments, please refer to the TGA website.
